Following pressure from the European Digital Markets Act and the Euroconsumers organization, Microsoft is offering free ESU Year 1 to users in the European Economic Area (including France):

• Year 1: FREE (Oct 15, 2025 - Oct 13, 2026)
• Single requirement: Microsoft account sign-in at least once every 60 days
• No OneDrive sync required
• No payment
